why there is no life span in unicellular organisms?

As all we know that every organism even a single cell have there own life span, but in some organism like unicellular or single cell organisms  reproduce through asexual mode, these organism do not reproduce through mitosis and meiosis instead this they have amitotic division thus involving single nuclei, cytoplasm and genetic material and when new offspring formed we can say that, it is a genetically clone of its earlier body having all characters and feature ........thus not loosing any feature so they are sometimes called immortal...smiley
