Hyperparathyroidism can result in Osteoporosis, a disease of bones for the reason of continuous calcium release from the bones. Osteoporosis leads to the thinning of bone tissue and reduce bone density over time.

Hyperparathyroidism may also cause formation of calcium kidney stones.
