The prime examples of habitat loss come from tropical rain forests.

Tropical rain forests are being destroyed fast. Thousands of hectares of rain forests are being cut and cleared on a regular basis for cultivation or for converting it to grasslands for raising cattle. Thus more and more numbers of medicinally useful plants in tropical rain forests are being destroyed without our knowledge.
