ANAPHASE OF MITOSIS:

  1. During anaphase the arranged chromosomes at the metaphase plate are migrate towards their respective poles.
  2. Before this migration started, chromosomes are divided into sister chromatids, by the separation of joined centromere of two sister chromatids of a chromosomes.
  3. During migration sister chromatids moved towards opposite poles of the cell by the constriction of spindle fibres or kinetochore microtubules.
  4. Due to this movement the size of chromosomes are changed, e.g.: metacentric looks like V-shaped whereas submetacentric looks like J-shaped.
  5. This movement i.e. migration continues till the chromosomes reached to the poles and their segregation completes.
