What is the difference between Pollen and Pollinium?

1 Answer

Pollen is the male gametophytic generation in angiosperm. It is the mature microspore produced inside the anther. Microspore which produces male gametes will fuses with the egg during fertilization, where as in certain plants the pollen grains of a pollen sac remain coherent together as a single unit known as Pollinium.
