The process of contraction of the protoplasm from the cell wall is called as plasmolysis. The cell after plasmolysis is termed as plasmolysed cell. The plasmolysis occurs when the exosmosis takes place in a cell. The plasmolysed cell will become flaccid due to excess loss of water. The completely plasmolysed cell result in the death of the cell.
