The artificial system of classification is based arbitrary on the easily observable characters such as the colour, habit, number or certain features. One such a classification is the sexual system of Linnaeus which is based on the number of stamens present.

Whereas the natural system of classification uses the overall similarities for grouping a taxa. Bentham and Hooker jointly proposed the elaborate natural system of classification.
