In most of the plants the bark includes pericycle, cortex, periderm and some dead cells which are found external to periderm. In the cases where the bark arises superficially; the bark will be seen between the phloem and the epidermis and periderm. But when the periderm is originating from the phloem the layer outside the periderm form the bark.
