The point at which input becomes equal to output of a quatity.In case of photosynthesis the point at which rate of carbon dioxide used in photosynthesis becomes equal to which released in respiration.Similar in case of light. AND the period of componsation comprise of dawn and dusk,when there is no net loss and gain of that quantity either light or CO2.
