Placenta is essential but disposable temporary organ that cushioned the fetus.

After implantation the endometrium helps to form the placenta. The placenta provides nourishment to the developing fetus, removes fetal metabolic wastes, and produces the hormones of pregnancy.

Placenta is a EPHEMERAL temporary endocrine gland that produces hormones hCG (Human chronic gonadotropin) present in the urine of female (confirmatory test for pregnancy) and also sustain pregnancy.
