The type of inflorescence in which the reproductive branch (peduncle) is short and of definite growth and terminates into a flower. Such an inflorescence is called as a Cymose inflorescence.
The flowers are arranged in basipetal succession i.e., the old flowers are towards the tip and younger flowers are towards the base. The order of opening of flowers is centrifugal.
Cymose inflorescence is found in Jasmine.
