RNA is a single stranded polynucleotide molecule present in the cells as non-genetic material. It is present in the nucleus as well as in the cytoplasm. It consists of ribonucleotides arranged in a long series. The nucleotides present in RNA are Adenine (A), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C) and Uracil (U).

RNA being single stranded, the nitrogen bases usually remain unpaired. RNA is formed using DNA as the template by the process of Transcription
