Difference between parental and recombinant phenotypes.

Parental phenotype means traits of parents are observed in offsprings whereas recombinant phenotypes means that trait of parents are present in offsprings but could not been observed.

Comments

Does it mean that recombinant phenotypes are ones like a recessive gene that is masked by a dominant gene therefore you don't see that gene? Your is it talking about genetics of things you can't physically see?
