Connective tissue is divided into two main categories: fibrous and specialized. Fluid connective tissues are specialized types of connective tissue. Fluid connective tissues are divided into two categories (1) Blood and (2) Lymph because their matrix is not a solid.
Blood contained in blood vessels, composed of specialized cells that are carried in the fluid matrix, or plasma. Blood transports nutrients, gases, hormones, and wastes.
Lymph contained in lymphatic vessels, includes cells as well as proteins like blood, derived from the interstitial fluid, deals with lymph.
