DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RETROTRANSPOSONS AND DNA TRANSPOSONS:
-
Transposons are small mobile DNA segments can change positions in the genome (in the same cell) and also able to replicate independently itself.
-
Whereas the transposons which are first transcribed into a copy of RNA that is then reversely transcribe DNA. Those are known as “retrotransposons”.
-
Transposons simply cut and paste its DNA segment during transposition whereas retrotransposons produce RNA intermediate.
-
The enzyme requires for transposons is “transposase” whereas for retrotransposons is “reverse transcriptase”.
