Stamens or microsporophyll consists of slender stalk, the filament and the anther. The anther lobes are connected by a sterile tissue known as connective. The anther lobe has the microsporangia which contains numerous microspores or pollen grains. Each anther lobes has two pollen sac or microsporangia; so an anther has four microsporangia. Whereas staminodes are sterile stamens which not at all produces fertile anthers.
