In the non-cyclic photophosphorylation both the PS I and PS II are active. The splitting of water takes place in PS II in which water is split into H+, [O] and electrons. The light dependent splitting of the water molecule is called as photolysis of water. There by the PS II provides the electrons that are removed from the PS I. So the net products are protons and oxygen.
