CRUSTOSE LICHENS
The thallus of crustose lichen is flat, thin and of insignificant size.
It is just a crust and grows closely attached to the rocks or barks by its entire lower surface.
The surface of the thallus is divided into hexagonal areas called areolae.
Examples

etc.
