Fusiform initials: They are elongated cells with tapering ends

Ray initials: They are isodiametric cells.
Vascular cambium is present parallel to the plant axis and the cell wall is thin and cellulosic. The cell wall contains pits, vacuolated cytoplasm and a large nucleus.
