The higher monocarboxylic acids containing carbon carbon single bond are known as saturated fatty acids.

These fatty acids do not have double bond in between carbon atoms.

They have high melting points and are solid at room temperature.

Examples: Lauric acid, Stearic acid, Palmitic acid etc.
