Both the hormones, Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3) are identical hormones. The only difference is that thyroxine contains four molecules of iodine where as Triiodothyronine contains three instead of four.

These hormones accelerate cellular metabolism in most body tissues and regulates growth and development.
