Two laws are of heredity are as follows:

1. Law of Segregation or Law of Purity of Gametes: It states that when two pair of contrasting characters or traits or genes or alleles segregate or separate from each other during the formation of gametes, half carry one allele and other half carry other allele.

2. Law of Independent Assortment: It states that during gamete formation the genes for different traits assort themselves independently of one another.
