In Lycopodium the sporophylls are aggregated to form strobilus. The strobilus is formed at the apex of the vegetative branch in the form of a cone. The Lycopodium is homosporous that is all the sporophylls produces same kind of sporangia and spores. The sporangium has short multicellular stalk and it is borne near the base of the sporophyll. The wall of the sporangium is made up of three or more which also encloses a mass of spore mother cells which give rise to the spores.
