The functions of sepal are:

  1. It protects the developing buds there by enclosing in the bud condition.
  2. The sepals are green in colour so it can also synthesize food.
  3. It also protects the floral buds.
  4. Some sepals are petalloid so attracts insects.
  5. Some of the sepals help in fruit dispersal.
