The adequate amount of light is a factor that mediates the process of germination. It also acts an important factor that triggers the germination process. Some of the seeds will not germinate until the obtain sufficient amount of light. Whereas some others have hindering effects on the seed germination. The wild species of plants prefer the darkness so they are sown deep under the soil in other case most new varieties vegetable and other seeds prefer the light. Some of the studies also reveals the fact that the smaller seed prefer light and whereas the larger seed does not.
