Fermentation is the process of partial break down of glucose. Net gain of ATP molecule is less in fermentation. The oxidation of NADH occurs in a slow pace, where as in aerobic respiration, the substrate is completely broken down into carbon dioxide and water. The net gain of ATP molecules is higher in aerobic respiration. The oxidation of NADH is a vigorous process.
