The main functions of hydathode are:

  1. It is a specialized structure involved in the guttation.
  2. They are the permanent opening present on the tip, margins. Adaxial as well as the abaxial surfaces.
  3. Some hydathode are actively involved in the exuding the fluids while some others passively exudes the fluids.
