Both the kinetochore and the centromere are not the same instead the centromere contains the bundle of microtubules known as the kinetochore. The centromere is the region of attachment of the two sister chromatids. Whereas the kinetochore is the point of attachment of the spindle micro tubules and it is also called as the protein complex assembled at the centromere.
