The introduced new variety of plant species has to undergo selection process for getting the superior variety from them. Sometimes it may be under gone the hybridization with the local variety so as to transfer certain characters from the local varieties. And this new hybrid variety is used for cultivation. This process is known as the secondary introduction. Example is Kalyan sona.
