Pitcher plant or
Sarracenia
is a highly specialized plant which is dependent on small animals such as insects for their nitrogen requirements.
It is an insectivorous plant which have specialized structures and mechanisms to attract, trap and ingest insects and then secrete some proteolytic enzymes to ”digest” the protein contents of the insect body.
