The cytosol is the matrix part of the cytoplasm excluding the cell organelles. The cytosol is made up of the salts, water and the organic molecules or chemicals and the enzymes. The cytosol is the site of many metabolic processes. Whereas cytoskeleton is the network of fibres that is present in the cytoplasm. It helps in maintaining the shape of the cell and supports the cell by giving mechanical strength. It also helps in holding the cell organelles in its place.
