It is the correction by repair or replacement of a defective gene with somatic cells.
The correction is not passed on to the progeny.
The genetic changes induced are not inherited, and would have no effects on future generations.
Somatic gene therapy is technically expertised.
No ethical issues arise as there is no harm to any of the individuals. Also, it is passed on to future generations.
