The cytokinesis occurs in the late stages of mitosis. During the cytokinesis the cytoplasm and the plasma membrane divides. In the plant cell it occurs by the formation of the cell plate by the phragmoplast and the fusion of the vesicle. The cell plates formation occurs from the centre towards the lateral walls. In animal cell the cytokinesis occurs by constriction of the plasma membrane and the constriction deepens and meets at the centre.
