  1. Breeding between individuals of different breeds is called as Cross breeding.
  2. The largest and best fowls should be selected.
  3. Cross breeding should be done between the local varieties and some of the best exotic breeds, such as white Leghorn, Rhode Island red, Plymouth Rock, New Hampshire and Minorca for improvement of poultry.
  4. Some of these exotic varieties are excellent egg-layers, while others are good meat producing birds.
  5. Some of the new hybrids obtained grow faster and are capable of yielding 230 to 250 eggs per year. They have low mortality rate.
