Microfilament
Microtubule
Microfilaments are thin thread like fibres.
Microtubules are cylindrical tubes.
It is 3-6nm in diameter.
It is 20-25nm in diameter.
It is formed of actin protein.
It is formed of tubulin protein.
The G-actin is the monomeric unit present in the microfilament.
The alpha and the beta tubulin are the monomeric units of tubulin.
It functions during the contraction of the muscles, protoplasmic streaming, cytokinesis, and change in the cell shape.
It helps in the intracellular transport of the materials and in the motility.
