The vegetative reproduction in bryophytes occurs by the following methods;

a. By the progressive death and decay of the older regions of the plant.

b. By formation of the adventitious branches.

c. By the death of the thallus in drought condition.

d. By tuber formation.

e. By rhizoid formation; since rhizoids have the capability to grow into new thallus.

f. By the formation of the gemmae or gemmae like tubers.

g. By the formation of secondary protonema
