Some bacteria can synthesize their food and hence they are autotrophic in their mode of nutrition. These bacteria synthesize their own food from inorganic substrates. They may be photo autotrophs (eg. Spirillum) or chemoautotrophs eg. Nitrosomonas or Nitrobacter.
