Renin is a proteolytic enzyme that is released by the juxtaglomerular apparatus of the kidney so as to maintain normal blood supply and filtration pressure.
The enzyme rennin causes the release of Angiotensin which regulates arterial blood pressure, filtrate rate and stimulates the secretion of Aldosterone.
