FUNCTION OF MERISTEMATIC TISSUES

  1. Meristematic tissues are in active stage of metabolism.
  2. They are capable of undergoing indefinite number of divisions.
  3. The function of meristematic tissue is to form numerous new cells by division. It is also called formative tissue.
