Protoplasm:
-
It is called as the “Physical basis of life”.
-
It is a colloidal, complex, elastic, viscous, granular and colourless substance present in the cell. It is selectively or differentially permeable.
-
It is the living substance of the cell.

Cytoplasm:
-
Cytoplasm is the jelly-like, semi-solid substance found around the nucleus and inside the plasma membrane.
-
It consists of aqueous ground substance called cytoplasmic matrix or cytosol.
-
It is differentiated into outer ectoplasm and inner endoplasm.
-
It is made up of 90% water and forms about half of the cell’s volume.
-
Cytoplasmic matrix is composed of sugars, amino acids, vitamins, proteins, nucleotides, t-RNA and enzymes.
-
6.Various cellular organelles are dispersed in the cytoplasm.
