The cutting enzymes are known as the restriction enzymes since it restricts or prevents the intrusion of the foreign DNA from other species into the genetic system of a cell. The restriction enzymes can degrade the foreign DNA which enters the bacterial cell. Since this enzyme can recognize the foreign DNA as an alien so it binds with the foreign DNA and will degrade it.
