Fibrinogen is an inactive plasma protein and once activated, fibrinogen forms a blood clot.

Fibrinogen is exactly an inactive and soluble fibre like structure . This fibrinogen when comes in contact with thrombin, it converts to active and insoluble fibre lyk structure called as Fibrin ....these fibrin then enmesh the blood corpuscles and form a clot at the site of injury
